Thanks for everyone who braved the only mildly inclement weather tonight and came out this evening. There was all sorts of excitement with the presence of Kevin "KJ" Johnson from Salomon, who brought swag, demo items, and those oh-so-dry tents, as well as Jesse West, who was out volunteering her skills as a chiropractic doctor. We also introduced the 32mm starting pistol (I didn't even blow my ear drums out!), and finally we witnessed the debut of the Podiumwear leader bibs, just to add a little fun and excitement to the race. Per usual, there was also great raffle prizes, like Salomon XT Wings shoes, and tasty snacks like Justin's Nut Butter and organic honey crisp apples provided by our wonderful friends at FruitShare.

Race course update
Today, the race course was officially measured, and it clocked in at 5,791 meters, just shy of 5.8k or 3.6 miles. Starting tomorrow, there will be mile markers, as well as a marker at 5k if you want to time yourself for that distance.
Also starting tomorrow, the Podiumwear leader's jerseys will be making their debut. Donning these flashy pieces will be Jamie Cheever and Dave Duede in the open category, and Pete Miller and Lorena Byerly in the masters (age 40+) category.

We had a record number 64 runners tonight. Tell all your friends and let's see if we can set a new attendance record in two weeks on September 15th. Clif Crunch!
Its a busy time at race headquarters, as preparations for our September 1st kick-off are well-underway! Today, as signs for course marking were being painted, a load of Clif Crunch bars arrived. These are Clif's new product, and are an all-natural crunchy granola bar. Now that I have 600 of them, I think I can manage to share a few with all my racers. So come hungry, because we are going to sample all the flavors: peanut butter, honey oat, white chocolate macadamia nut, and chocolate chip.
